USTA Tennis Tournament

I have to admit, although I didn’t play my best, I still had a pretty good outcome for the first tournament of the USTA tennis season. I earned a finalist trophy for singles and a champion trophy for doubles – both at 3.0 level.

Welcome Home Gracie!

We finally have Gracie back home. She has been at Waterdog Kennels in Temple for over a month now, but it was well worth it. She is still a playful puppy, but is far more disciplined and calm now. She plays well with the kids in the yard and will calm down and sit on command, should she get overly excited. I am very impressed with the training that she received and thankful that we decided to go ahead and do it.

Lens Sketch

Since I’ve purchased a Moleskine notebook, I’ve been wanting to start sketching some. I don’t really have the creative talent to do anything amazing with a pencil and piece of paper, but I figured I have to start somewhere.

This is my attempt at sketching at Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Rough, but a start.

T-Ball

Stone played his first t-ball game today. He missed his first actual game, while recovering from his tonsils/adnoid surgery. He had an absoulute blast out there on the field. He was into fielding the ball, batting and especially running the bases. After hitting a first pitch home run, he rounded the bases and crossed home plate sliding, even though the ball was still making it’s way back from the outfield.

Fourtrack Recording

This is a great little app for the iPhone that allows for four track recording (one track at a time). I have been very impressed with the internal microphone on the iPhone as well. The acoustic guitar sounds very good when the phone is placed within about a foot. As an added bonus, the app features wifi sync, which allows for easy downloading of the tracks or a fully mixed version of a song via a web browser.

Backyard Masters

Today we had a golf tournament set up in our back yard. It was only one hole, but it sure was fun. There was registration and a scorecard to track the course record. I love seeing they boys’ creativity at work. And they especially enjoy when the whole family participates.

Gracie at Waterdog

Today we had a family training session with Gracie at Waterdog Kennels. The session went great. Gracie is doing so well. She was calm with the boys and responded very well to their commands. She even listened to Murphy.

After our training, we got to hang out with her and play some fetch. I have been very impressed with her progress during her training. Hopefully she will be home within the week. Our whole family, especially the boys, are looking forward to having her home.

CFUMC Cross

Our church had this cross put up on Bankhead Highway just as you come into Carrollton.

It’s been up for a while, but this is the first time I have phtographed it. A simple grab shot – literally grabbed my camera and shot it just before the traffic light turned green.

Corporate Headshot

Today I had the opportunity to shoot a corporate portrait session with Mark Foster, the General Manager at Walker Cadillac Buick GMC. Mark and I are good friends, so the shoot was laid back and fun.

We joked around during the entire shoot, which yeilded many natural, fun portraits, somewhat different from the typical stuffy headshot.

Headed to School

I had the rare opportunity to take Murphy to school this morning. Karen had a meeting at OMA, so I took the Murph to preschool at Tabernacle. Mr. Personality was the cutest thing, showing me his room and telling me how excited he was to play with his friends.
